Files not showing in finder (mac).
OK so i have a family account for my band. we have five people all using the DB. 2 of us can see all of the files, but 3 of us don't see certain files but can see others. I've triple-checked, with all laptops sitting next to each other that all files have a green check and are fully up to date and on the internet.. no matter what we do, everyone is NOT seeing the same thing.
is this a known issue?

Hi unityofnoise, let's jump right into this!
So, starting with the website: do you all see the same content there? Do you work with shared folders, or something different?
Provided that the issue is only local, have you checked the selective sync settings for each device along with the app's syncing status, in order to make sure the app is up-to-date?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hi, Megan thanks for the reply.
yes everyone sees the files on the website.. but upon downloading the files the wont open and are giving errors.. only on the computers that dont see the files locally.
Yes i checked to see if everyone was up todate etc and all DB versions are the same.
That said. My comp was running the beta version of DB. I recently took it out of the beta and am now having the same issue as the other 3. ONTOP of that... when i download the files they give me errors as well. when yesterday they didn't give me any errors.
PLEASE TELL ME DB DIDNT JSUT F!@#$ UP all of our files?

Hi unityofnoise, what type of errors do you get when you download the content from the website?
Also, are you able to preview the files online, without any issues? Are the files in a shared folder?
If you have any screenshots of how the content looks online, versus what you see locally, feel free to share it with me.

I figured it out on my end, but it's not cool.
when I try to download the music project file that is missing in my finder dropbox folder from dropbox.com, it zips the file into a .TAR file and downloads it to my computer. That file is named correctly and everything looks ok.
Now, when I uncompress that file, it renames it as "dropbox_download" why is it changing the name of my files when I uncompress them? and honestly why is it compressing them into a TAR file, to begin with? Also, I've figured out there are communication issues with the computers using the beta version vs. the standard version of DB. Again, all files show up on the website, but when it comes to everyone being able to use the files directly out of Finder on their Mac, some files don't show up, and some do. I'm REALLY not sure this is worth $20 a month.
