I can't download a large folder from the Dropbox website. Should I use the desktop app instead?

Hi,

How do I download all audio files I have in 1 folder in Dropbox into my Laptop without erasing them from the folder?

Thank you

  • Thanks for posting on our Community today, UgoCT.

Can you clarify the size of the folder you’re trying to download from Dropbox? At the moment, there’s a 250GB limit indeed when downloading uncompressed folders from your web account.

If your folder is quite large in size, then I’d definitely suggest giving the desktop app a go and installing it on your computer. After the folder has synced locally, you can make a copy of it somewhere else on your Mac device.

Just keep in mind that, if the folder is large in size, it may take some time for the app to sync it locally, before you can download/copy it to your laptop.

Let me know if you need further help, though.

It is a large folder. If the reason is this: "limitations on the size of the folder being zipped"---how can I fix the problem? I want to have the folder on my laptop.

Should I download Dropbox desktop? Would then be possible to download the very large folder I have, or not? (I am using a Mac)

Thank you. I decided to download each audio file individually.
