I downloaded my .wav files from Dropbox, but they don't always play on my device.
I have a Sound FX library that I keep on Dropbox. 200GB. When I downloaded them, half of them no longer work. A few things happen:
- They won't play in quicktime but they will play in Audition
- They will play in Audition sometimes or once, but if I try to reload them into Audition, they are corrupted.
- Sometimes if I download the files individually they will work. But this is not consistent.
The whole thing is very odd, but I found this thread from 5 years ago, so I'm not alone:

So if I sync the files through the desktop – that is "make available offline" in Finder as opposed to dowloading the files from the Dropbox web interface – the files work fine. But if I download them in a web interface and it puts them in a .zip file then they become corrupted.
So I still have my files it seems. Thank God.
Not a problem, just "make available offline," right? Well, the problem is Dropbox does this so slowly. I've got 200GB of sound fx to browse through and the reason I was downloading .zip files through the web browser in the first place is because Dropbox syncs my files at an average speed of like 1.5MB (megabytes) per second, sometimes slower. This is about 30-40x slower than through a web browser, and at this rate it will take 56 hours for my library to sync.
I've already got a support ticket out for that issue.
So if you're having the same issue as me, try syncing through the "make available offline" and I pray you don't have a client breathing down your neck.
