Is there a way to add files from Photomyne directly to Dropbox?
Hi,
I have some albums of very precious photos created and stored on Photomyne (online).
I would like to move them into my Dropbox, but can't work out how to do it. I have the option of downloading them from Photomyne onto my laptop, and then I imagine from there I will be able to move them to Dropbox, but I don't have enough storage on my laptop to do them all at once. And it would be laborious to do each one and then delete it to do the next?
I am not very tech savvy but wonder if there is a way to transfer them directly to Dropbox? and if so can it be explained in very simple terms please?
many thanks.

Hey Nangie, welcome to our Community!
There's no direct way that I know of, that you can connect your Dropbox account to Photomyne.
I'd also suggest what you already mentioned: downloading the content locally, and then adding it to Dropbox either using our website, or our desktop app.
If you don't have enough local space in order to do that, maybe an external hard drive would come in handy. Otherwise, downloading the files in small batches might be the way to go on about it.
Using a third party app might also work, but it is outside the scope of my support to suggest one. This is why we have our Community here. If any other users know of another way to do this, they're welcome to jump in here and share their knowledge with you.
I hope this helps!

Oh OK thankyou, is the app easier to use to do that than going online, as I don't have that installed?

Hey Nangie, no problem at all!
Essentially when you download the desktop app a Dropbox folder is created locally to your machine.
That folder is a mirror of your own content as you see it on the website.
You can add, remove, move or edit content, and these changes will sync from the Dropbox folder to your account online, and vice versa.
If you have any other questions, let me know!

You could move your files in batches, and I would suggest using separate folders for each batch to start. After each folder is fully synced, you can mark it as Online-only to remove the files from local storage (while still having them visible) or use Selective Sync to completely remove the folder while leaving it online in your account.
Once marked as Online-only or removed with Selective sync, you'll reclaim that disk space for the next batch.

Thankyou. Will the folder that is mirrored also actually contain all the files, ie take up room on my iPad?

Oh Thankyou, online only seems like a good idea.

Hey Nangie, the Dropbox mobile app is more or less like the website, in the sense that the files don't take up space on your phone.
You can access them if the device is connected to the internet, but you can make any file you want available offline, so that you can access it when the device is not connected.
Those files will take up space, though.
I hope this helps!
