The Photos page on the website is very slow, why?
Hi everyone,
My name is Benoit, and I have been a Dropbox user since 2016.
For me, my entire life is in Dropbox, and it is very important for me to have access to your solution.
However, I have a small issue when trying to view my photos on the website (https://www.dropbox.com/photos).
It is very difficult to find a specific photo, and the page loads very slowly! For example, when I try to find a picture from year, the page takes a long time to load. I set the filter to the year 2022, and it takes 4 to 5 minutes to display all the photos from that year!
I tried in different browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, and Brave, but it's the same issue. Also, I tried in Linux Mint, Windows (10 and 11) and I've the same problem.
My wife uses a different solution, like Google Photos(🤮), and when she wants to find a photo, it is not as slow as Dropbox and she can search for a photo by name. Why don’t you have this filter in Dropbox?
Best regards,
Benoit

Hey BenoitD, thanks for reaching out to us.
It's possible that this has to do with the number of files in your account; do you have lots of them?
Are these photos you manually added to your account or were they automatically added through the Camera Uploads feature?
Also, if you navigate to your files from the "all files" page, does the page load quicker?
Keep me posted.

Hi Hannah,
Thank you for your response.
Yes, the photos are automatically added through the Camera Uploads feature because I don't want my wife or me to lose any photos we take.
Also, navigating from "All Files" is not faster than using the "Photos" category.
Best regards,

Hey BenoitD, let me also jump in here!
Do you use the mobile app, by any chance? If so, do you notice the same behavior when accessing your Photos tab there?
Also, have you tried another network since you first noticed this? Lastly, may I ask approximately how many photos you've stored in your Dropbox account?
Let me know more and we'll take it from there.
