Videos not playing correctly offline

I've been a DB user for over 3 years and I've opened, made offline, uploaded, downloaded, etc. videos hundreds of time.

Currently I have a video that's 22GB that when I play it online in any browser, or in the DB app on my iPhone it plays fine.  Once I make it available offline the audio plays but not the video.  I've even changed from the shared DB its in to my own DB account.  Other videos are fine.

Thanks

David

When you play via the website or the app it uses the website/app to play it. When its offline and opened in the computer it uses the software on your machine to play it - no link anymore to Dropbox.

So, if it isnt playing the correct codecs arent installed on the device to play it. You need to ask what you need to install to play it correctly. A good player to try is VLC Player

If you copy the video out of your local Dropbox folder to another location on your computer, do you have the same issue or does it play fine?

copying doesn't help.  I've also downloaded it straight from DB online folders.  I already use VLC Player.  These are MP4 - same source as many many other ones... Zoom.  And same account as I've used from before.  No Zoom settings were changed.

Hey dsfreedman - could you clarify if you're facing this issue on your mobile device or a desktop?

Have you tried any other media players to see if you can preview the files normally?

Although mp4 generally work, there are many track features that are not playable natively by the iOS media player -- it'll work online because the server helps play it, but offline playback wouldn't leverage the server. It's possible the source (Zoom) has changed their video encoding settings in some way…the easiest will be to open both in QuickTime on the Mac and do the get info (⌘I) shortcut to see the track info. VLC will show a lot more info, too. Is there any difference in the video tracks?

Desktop both a Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines.  Not iOS as not on a Mac.  As far as mobile - I use the app and have no reason to download locally to my iPhone.  I have also imported it into a Video Production app, which is where I first came across the issue - re downloading to my PC made me aware of the larger scope.

This video is from 2024 and I have utilized videos from Zoom, even from the same account, for the last year years.
