Edited files in Dropbox are down to 5 or 6 KB. How can I restore them?
I have identified over 50,000 of my Dropbox files have been altered or changed from standard file size to 5-6KB. Restoring them 1 at a time is brutal. I've checked deleted and they are not there. The only method I can use is More... Version History Restore.
Is there a better way to be able to restore mass or bulk? The files show as edited which is odd considering they've not been edited from original file size to 5-6KB. I've attempted to use filter by date range, still no luck in locating them. Only option I have is file by file manually.

To add more context, I think this issue occurred when I changed some folders and files on desktop locally from Offline to Online Only. One would think the files and folders would not change to 5-6KB in DB or other DB account connected computers. I have specific dates where this has occured and hoping to do bulk restores. I see in Events where it is showing 7100+, 5200+, 8000+ files edited on different dates. Anything that was deleted, was intentionally deleted, anything marked edited was not actually edited.

If you're on a paid plan, you could try Rewind.

Hi Rich, Thank you for the suggestion, I checked that also. In my case I had not deleted files so rewind was empty. I changed folders from offline to online only. This resulted in the files in the folders shrinking to 5-6 KB (local, o5her connected computers, and in Dropbox web... I opened a ticket and spoke extensively with support on this for over an hour, they came to the same conclusion of restoring manually 1 file at a time. Nor were they willing to provide insight on why this occurred. I suspect older versions of apps as part of the cause.
Out if the total 617 GB affected, I've manually recovered 140 GB this week
