How can I get all of my missing files back?

I need help. I've had a paid account for years. I last accessed it a year ago. I logged in today and all my files are gone and my account basic and it's asking me to upgrade. How can I get all of my files back?

Are you sure you're signed in to the correct account? If you're actively paying for an account and the account you're signed in to shows as Basic, then you likely have another account. Use the credit card charge lookup tool to identify the account you're paying for, and make sure that's the account you're signing in to.

If you're signing in to the correct account, have you been paying for it all along? If so, Dropbox wouldn't delete your account or files, provided you were within your quota. If you stopped paying for the account and left it idle for more than a year, then it would have been deleted due to inactivity. If that's the case, it's not possible to recover the files.

Check that you're signing in to the correct account and let us know.
