I can't access the "manage files" section to delete files and free up storage space.

Question or Issue
I received a notification that I'm over my free storage limit but when I click on 'manage files' the screen returns to the storage notification after a few seconds so I cannot delete any files. I'm stuck in a loop! I can't even see my files but I suspect a friend has uploaded a large file into a folder I've shared with her. If I can sort the issue so I can see my files, will I still be able to delete that file she shared or will she have to do it? She's away at the moment so cannot access to delete. Thanks!

Hi clareslater! Thanks for posting on our Community.

Can you send me a screenshot of the “manage files” section you’re selecting, in order to find which files are taking up excess space on your Dropbox account?

If you go here, can you see the folder you shared with your friend and open it? In case she’s uploaded a large file indeed, you should be able to delete it on your end (since I understand you’re the owner of the shared folder).

Let me know if that helps.

    Hello!

Dropbox engineer here. Do you have an adblocker enabled on dropbox.com? We know certain  adblockers can cause this issue because they block the network request that tells our server you saw the warning. If our server doesn't know you saw the warning then it'll keep trying to show it. Can you disable your adblocker and let me know if that fixes the issue?
