I can't copy and paste folders from my desktop app and I don't see Dropbox options for my files.
Dear all,
I would really appreciate your help in advance.
I am using Dropbox on my desktop using the desktop app. For some reason, I cannot copy and paste folders within my Dropbox (it says it is copying and pasting the folder but the progress stays at 0%). The same symptom happens when I also copy a folder from Dropbox to Gdrive.
Also, when I right click the dropbox file, I do not see dropbox related actions. This is really frustrating me. Please help!!!
Sincerely,
HJP

Hey hyunjoon12! Welcome to our forum.
Is this function working for individual files, or do you notice the same behavior?
Can you send me a screenshot of your folders, as they appear within your local Dropbox folder? I’d like to check their syncing status for you.
Finally, if you check your system tray/menu bar, can you see the small Dropbox icon there? Since you mention there are no Dropbox options when right-clicking on your files, the Dropbox app may not be running at the moment.
Keep me in the loop for more info.

Thank you so much in advance for your help.
- To give you context, I did not download everything one my desktop. Everything is stored online.
- For files, it works great!
- It seems that no symbol indicates these files are online or offline as you see here...
4. As you see here, drop box is currently running and I do not see the option for dropbox related actions when I right click on these files.
5. Lastly, when I look at the status bar of dropbox it says all files are up-to-date and synced.

Hey hyunjoon12, thanks for the additional info and screenshots!
Was your computer's OS recently upgraded by any chance?
Also, when you hover over your Dropbox icon, apart from the sync status, which version of the Dropbox app does it show you?

Thank you! I was able to solve the icon and menu options by changing registry.
I still have issue with copying files from Dropbox (that are on cloud) app to desktop. It takes forever and the progress still stays at 0%. My version is 220.4.4126 and I purchased my computer with 11 OS so I did not update them recently!

Hi again, hyunjoon12! If you right-click on one of your folders now, do you see the option to make it available offline?
If you do, please choose that option, wait for it to fully sync on your computer, and try to copy it again after that. Does it get successfully pasted now at the new location?

Thanks! Yes, it was solved like that for few days and things seemed to work (like seeing the icons and etc). So, I tried transferring the files within my dropbox folders. It did not work. Further, the sync icon showed on the folder disappeared. I would really appreciate help on this matter! Thank you!

Is Dropbox still running?
How many files do you have out of interest syncing to your machine?
