I had downloaded my files on my Mac, but they're 0 bytes; they don't exist on the web either.
I unsubscribed from Dropbox in March 2024 and downloaded all my files before canceling. However, when I checked today (January 2025), I found that my downloaded files are corrupted (Zero Bytes on Mac). Additionally, when I logged into the website, all my previous files were missing.
In this case, what are my options for recovering the files? Would resubscribing allow me to restore them?
I would appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Hi tigercaptain! I’m sorry to hear about the situation.
When downloading your files from Dropbox last time, did you save them to your computer from www.dropbox.com or your desktop app?
If you used the desktop app, is it possible that the files were online-only at the time and you dragged them directly out of your Dropbox folder?
If that’s not the case, please feel free to check your Deleted files and Events pages online and let me know if you see something more there.
Keep me in the loop for any updates.

I don’t remember exactly how I downloaded the files, but at this moment, all of these folders have disappeared.
Could you advise me on how I can restore them?
Thank you for your help.

It looks like, for whatever reason, the files were marked as Online Only and as such you've only moved file containers.
The ONLY WAY now to restore is see if they are still at www.dropbox.com/home and if so download from there, or use the app and mark them as 'available offline'.
However, if they were deleted from your account (see www.dropbox.com/events ) over 30 days ago its not possible to recover at all I'm afraid.
