Macbook Downloads folder is gone after deleting Dropbox app

I installed Dropbox and synced my files on my Macbook about 2 years ago. I recently deleted the application, which deleted my downloads folder on my Macbook. There is nothing in my recently deleted folder on my Dropbox account. I really need help restoring it. I am a student.

Rant: It is absolutely ridiculous that this can happen. I am very frustrated that I cannot talk to a real person on the phone without paying for a premium account. I am very desperate for help.

Hey reecer, welcome to our Community and sorry to hear about this.

It sounds like you had enabled the backup feature on your Dropbox application, for the Downloads folder to have been backed up to your Dropbox.

Can you take a look at this page and let me know if you can find the folder?

Let me know how it goes.
