My photos are missing from my account, how can I get them back?

Hello, I’ve had drop box for many years, the free version. Recently I’ve noticed photos that were there are now missing! Havnt been deleted or anything, but they are gone and were 110% there… absolutely distraught, drop box was the only back up for all these precious memories. There is no way to contact a human at drop box what do I do

When was the last time you signed in to the account, and when did you last see the files there? Is there anything at all listed on your Events page, or is it blank?

Hey Caseygavin, sorry to hear about your missing files

Are you 100% sure that you're looking at the correct Dropbox account?  How did you upload your photos in the first place? Do you remember seeing them on the website?

I'm only asking because the events page should show some traces of your files since it's the place where all uploads, edits, and deletions are normally logged.

Then you're most definitely signed in to a different account. I'd go back through your email accounts and see where you've received emails from Dropbox previously, then try to sign in with that email address instead.

If you're absolutely certain that you're using the same email address, then could it have been more than a year since you last accessed the account? If so, the account/files may have been deleted due to a year of inactivity, and you're now signed in to a new, empty account.

Hi Caseygavin, how were you uploading your photos to your Dropbox account? Via the site or by putting them into your Dropbox folder to let them sync?

Is your account over quota according to this page?

A screenshot of this would help greatly.

Yes it is over. So no new photos upload but the old ones were all there and some are now missing. Ones from the same day that I know were on there

But they arent showing on Events?

If so that means they either never uploaded OR were deleted over 6 months ago which is the limit of recovery on paid accounts.
