"Something went wrong" error when searching for files using Firefox
I have been experiencing for already a few weeks (if not even more) problems with the search function in the website. Any attempt at a search always returns the following:
I have been searching in the forums and I have not been able to find posts reporting problems.
Dropbox status seems all green, so this does not seem to be a global problem but something affecting a small set of users.
Has anybody else seen this?
There isn't much else we can request, since it seemed to work in the private browsing mode normally.
The usual things that can prevent the site from working are extensions and plugins, and other built-in features in browsers which might prevent scripts or something to that effect.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, obmunh.
Do you see the same error when searching for files using private browsing or an entirely different browser?
Keep me posted.

Hey Hannah . Thanks for answering. Took me long enough, didn´t it?
Just tried on a private Firefox window, and indeed works there. So, definitely looks like cookie / state problem ... I have uBlock in both the private session and the normal one and does not seem to be having any effect. Will try right now cleaning up all dropbox.com cookies and trying in the normal browser session.

Hi obmunh, it could also be another extension or browser settings of some sort on the normal version of Firefox that is preventing the Dropbox site from loading correctly.

He, curious. Just used the option in Firefox for clearing the site cookies and data, logged in again and ... problem is still there 🙂
I could clean up just all the cookies and site data as next step. Before I do that, could you be interested in getting any additional information?

OK, interesting. Full browser cleanup, no diff. Still showing the same search error. Went one by one on my extensions, and guess what: disabling the "return YouTube dislikes" extension in Firefox fixed it :D. Solved!
(surprised I cannot seem to find other references to this problem for other people in the web) - Jay10 months ago

Yes, most likely that extension was doing something with scripts, which affected the Dropbox site somehow.
I'm glad to hear that you were able to resolve this matter!
