Can I make files online only on one laptop, but available offline on another one?
My new backup laptop (Windows 10) has a tiny hard drive. Even after making several Dropbox folders online only, I still can't get Dropbox to finish syncing. And I want the files available offline on my main laptop (also Windows 10), where I need mp3 music files to be run in synch with karaoke (document) files with no audible latency. Is the online/offline switch device-specific or is it set across all my devices including my iPhone?

The online-only settings are specific to each computer. Mobile devices don't sync files the same way so the online-only functionality works differently. ALL content on a mobile device is online-only as the mobile apps just let you view the content in your account. They don't sync like the desktop apps do.
