File request upload failing on large file
Hi, seems that I can't actually talk directly to dropbox without upgrading my plan so I will try the hive mind!
Our company has steered away from using Dropbox but clients have provided file request links for us to upload to so we are obliged to use them. Trouble is that of the 4 files I need to send, only the 1.5 GB and 2 x 22GB files go through. The 116GB file spends an age trying to upload, then fails. Initially the first client, it seemed that they had the lower business tier that only accepted a max single file size of 100GB. They have updated their plan but the same thing occurs, spends ages trying, gets to about 60 - 80% complete then fails and advises to try again, no real error message. Another client linked to the same job has sent us their file request and the same thing happens - this client is the BFI who will no doubt have received files larger than our 116GB ProRes - yet I get the same results.
From our side I have upload large files to numerous platforms before without issue and I am using a 1Gbps, uncontended line. Any thoughts or similar experiences?
Thanks!

Hi SimonB_DO, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
In general, for some paid plans, it should be possible to upload up to 250 GB via a file request.
Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay, I should have said, this is when tried in both Chrome and Safari.

Hey SimonB_DO, thanks for checking!
Since this behavior is present on both browsers, would you mind reaching out to your client -if possible-, in order to ask more as to what type of plan they're using on their end?

Hi Megan,
Both users are confident they are on Business Plus. I have asked them to double check but only so many times I can ask what they feel to be a silly question!
It really does feel like a cap or limit of some kind as I can upload 2 x 22 GB files no problem and most of the 116GB transfer happens and it just fails at the last minute. An error message explaining it being a file size issue would clear things up but it gives no explanation.
Cheers

Hey SimonB_DO! 116GB is the size of a single file and not a folder, correct?
If yes, and your clients are on a Business Plus plan indeed, then you should be able to upload it via their file request. Please give this a go via an incognito window and a different internet connection (if that’s possible) and let me know if the issue persists.

Hi Nancy, incognito mode looked good for a while and the upload got to 100% and then failed. Pictures attached for reference. I will try a different internet connection from
home this evening.

We recently had a different issue with File Requests, that has since been fixed SimonB_DO.
I'm not sure if these could be correlating, but I'd definitely appreciate it if you could give it one more try and let me know.

Hi Megan,
So over the weekend I tried a different Mac, using different external storage on a different internet connection and the same thing. It shows 100% uploaded and then fails out saying 0/1 uploaded, try 1 again.I am waiting to see what the client wants to try next! Thanks
