How can I remove some users from the list of external collaborators?

I can gave access to some "Joe Random" to a file he needed to download.   Fine.  All good.

4 years later, the file is deleted, and his name still comes up on my list of external collaborators.  There is zero reason for any Rando's to be listed here.  There are 91 of them.  There should be like 4-5 of them.  How can I get rid of these names that no longer need access to files?

Joe Rando and his 85 friends can go!

Thanks for your post, Marc S.7.

If you're part of a Dropbox team, can you check if these users have been added to your approved list of external collaborators? If they have, you can remove them this way.

If that’s not the case though, I’d like a screenshot of where they appear exactly as suggestions on your Dropbox account, so that I can take a look (please make sure to mask any other names or personal info that may be showing in your screenshot in that case).

Keep me posted for any updates.

From the Admin Console, under members, and then clicking the external collaborators tab, all of these people show up.  90 of them.  These are old contact that I gave access to certain files on my dropbox when I was a personal account.  I not longer want them there.  I do not share files to them, many of the files no longer exist.  I would just like to delete them all.

Hey Marc S.7 - thanks for the additional information and the screenshot too.

Just to clarify, have you ensured that these people are not members of any shared files or folders in your account at the moment?

If you remove them from your shares, they should be gone from your list of external collaborators, that's why I'm asking.

Sorry for the delay Walter.  I was traveling.  Ok, I am not sure I understand what you mean here?

How can I remove them from my shared files?  Have you got a video tutorial as to how this might be resolved?  Then I can test this...?

Hey Marc S.7, let me jump in here!

You can remove a member from your shared content using these steps. If you have any trouble doing that, let me know more.

Ok.  I have done that with some success.  Files that I have deleted, keep popping up.  Frustrating.

    For example:
    Folder A
File B inside folder A.  File B had given access to Joe Blow.

Erased the whole folder years ago.

See that Joe Blow had access to file B.  Removed access from his name.
File and Folder both reappear in my dropbox.

Joe Blow's name is still in my Collaborators list even though I am not sharing files with him.

I want to clean out my collaborators list!
