How can I save files into my Dropbox account using WPS Office on Ubuntu?
I recently had Microsoft removed from my computer and replaced with Linux Ubuntu. I'm struggling with the learning curve. I have installed Dropbox and I have installed WPS Office. How do I have WPS Office let me save to Dropbox? (as I previously did in a Windows based system)

Hi pyxye,
Welcome to the Dropbox Community!
You're already ahead by having installed Dropbox and WPS Office. Let's make them work together so you can save WPS Office files directly to your Dropbox folder.
1. Locate your Dropbox Folder
When you install Dropbox on Ubuntu, it typically creates a folder in your home directory, like:
/home/your-username/Dropbox
You can verify this by:
- Opening Files (Ubuntu’s file manager)
- Clicking on Home
- Looking for a Dropbox folder
2. Open WPS Office and Save a File
When you create or open a document in WPS Office, follow these steps:
- Click File > Save As
- In the file dialog, navigate to:
- /home/your-username/Dropbox
- Or:
- Click the “Other Locations” or “Home” option if you don’t see Dropbox right away
- Then double-click into the Dropbox folder
- Choose the subfolder (if any) and filename, then click Save
3. Check Sync
Make sure Dropbox is running and syncing:
- You should see the Dropbox icon in the top panel (near the clock)
- Click it to verify your files are syncing correctly

Hi pyxye, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
When you save files using WPS Office, are you saving the files in the Dropbox folder, in order for the Dropbox desktop app to sync it to your Dropbox account online?
This will help me to assist further!
