How to check what has been synced when using the app and how to access its preferences?
I started a free trial on 18.3.25. I am completely lost! I seem to have a Business Plan, but I don't want that. I just wanted to transfer some folders/files onto a new laptop. Dropbox seems to have transferred the videos/music from my USB, onto Dropbox, without asking and automatically synced 'something'. I don't know what. (although thankfully, it did seem to movedmy photos onto the new laptop)
- I don't know what has been synced?
2. I made some adjustments to preferences, but I cannot find 'preferences' again, to check if noted. Where do I find Preferences?
3. I have deleted the taskbar icon by mistake and so cannot access my account.
4. I am worried sick that if I do not continue with Dropbox, that I will lose all my files/folders in Documents,Music, Videos and possibly Pictures?
Is that so?

Hey mosie, welcome to our Community!
First, I want to apologize for the length of this post. My goal is to ensure that we've covered everything, so let's jump right into this!
Based on everything you've described, it sounds like you enabled our Backup feature, which you can read about here.
With the above in mind, would you mind clarifying if you see any backups enabled for your Documents, Music and Video folders, when visiting this page online?
In order to check which files have synced, I recommend that you open your local Dropbox folder, and compare the content you see there with what you see online.
About the app's preferences, and the little Dropbox icon: If Dropbox is installed on your machine, you can simply launch the app. If not, you can do a quick re-installation using this link. Once you can see and access the Dropbox icon, try these steps to access its preferences.
Lastly, we can definitely address your subscription, and how to cancel your trial once we've settled the rest. Feel free to let me know what subscription you see on your end when visiting your plan page.
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Thanks. I have found the preference now. However, there is no 'save' button anywhere!
When I go to 'With the above in mind, would you mind clarifying if you see any backups enabled for your Documents, Music and Video folders, when visiting this page online?' will I be agreeing to auto backups? I do not want that. I do not want anything auto backed up.
My worry is, that because Dropbox transferred, at least, the videos and music from my USB, that that has already been backed up?
I dont understand where I have to go? This is all beyond me. Is it possible to erase my trial from Dropbox altogether please. I do not want to back everything up on the cloud. I am afraid I will lose all my document, pictures, videos and music altogether now that Dropbox is involved, if I do not subscribe? Will I lose all my files?

I have found that my USB has been backed up and I do not want that. How do I undo it please?

Hey mosie, you can disable your Dropbox backup with these steps.
Let me know if you face any issues along the way or if the backup gets disabled successfully. We’ll look into your current Dropbox trial after that, as well.
