Hey Vonbaron, welcome to our forum.

Do you have the Dropbox app installed on both devices?

You also mention that you wish to transfer your files over to your new iPad, but in the title, you mention a new computer instead. Can you clarify what’s the new device, so that I can guide you from there?

Finally, I’d like you to walk me through the exact steps you’re taking to move your files over to your new device.

I’ll be able to further assist this way.

      Greetings

Thank you very much for helping an old man out

      Problem 1

I have an old ipad, which i use to take photos of files

The ipad does not have the functionality to put a connection on it to transfer the files onto the other end which has a usb attached to it

      Problem 2

I was told that dropbox might be a solution

I do not have the dropbox app on the ipad, only my pc

I need to transfer 1008 files from ipad to my pc-that is the issue

Hopefully that makes sense to you

Any help would be gratefully received

I was not happy with the apple store as they gave me wrong info.Made me buy a cable to house a usb, then had to reurn it as the ipad does not allow this

      Sincere thanks mike

Thanks for posting more info, Mike! Appreciate it.

So, from what I understand, you want to transfer the files that are saved on your local iPad to your computer instead, correct?

What I’d suggest is to also install the Dropbox mobile app on your iPad (you can do this from the App Store on your iPad directly).

After the app is installed, please sign in to your Dropbox account (the same Dropbox account you have on your computer) and upload the files from your iPad to your Dropbox mobile app directly (if you have a lot of photos you want to upload, you can try using this feature).

When all of the files have been uploaded, you should also be able to see them on the desktop app on your computer.

Let me know if that helps or if you need any further assistance.
