Issues while creating a link using the Dropbox 'Share' menu on Windows context menu
I often get lost when creating a link for sharing using the SHARE menu in the Windows context menu.
I want to create a link to share a folder in my Dropbox in view-only mode. I have been a long-time user of Dropbox Professional (over 20 years).
Why lost?
There is only ONE WAY to create a link in Dropbox => SHARE menu in the Windows context menu.
That's the reason.
The link must be created first, then the setting should be changed.
No the other way.
If you hit the "setting" button before creating a link, you will be lost. At the setting menu, you cannot create a link. No link is created, no link is copied in the clipboard.
You will need to start the link creation process from the SHARE menu, again.
Why can't I create the link within the settings tab?
It is reasonable to (1) adjust the setting and (2) create a link with the setting. But the SHARE context menu only allows (2) to create a link and then change the setting.
I often worry whether the link copied (and created before changing the settings) has the proper sharing option as I set. To be sure, I paste the copy into a browser and verify that the link setting is as I put it.
It's a waste of time.
Why is configuring the setting and then creating a link not allowed on the SHARE context menu?
I prefer to have a "Create a link" function in the Setting tab.

Hi there Early User - thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on this.
I've noted your feedback in our system and you can also post your feature requests in the Ideas section of the Community by following these steps as well, if you like.
I know it's not much, but I hope this helps a tad.
Please let me know if you have anything else to add or ask.
PS: Dropbox has been around since 2007 so it would be close to 20 years now, not over.

Walter-san,
Thank you very much for your suggestion.
I'm going to post my request on the suggested "feature requests". I don't want to get lost just to create view-only sharing link 😁.
By the way, you are right. I was in US till 2007, and went back to Japan September 2007. It was in Japan when I started subscribing Dropbox. So, it was 2007 or 2008. It is NOT OVER 20 years, but almost 20 years😆. - Walter21 days ago

No worries Early User - I'm just happy we were able to clear that up and, again, thanks for your feedback on this.
