My desktop app isn't syncing after updating to macOS Sequoia 15.0.1.

Hi Dropbox Community,

I’m having an issue with the Dropbox Desktop app not syncing after updating to macOS Sequoia 15.0.1. Files are stuck in “Syncing” status with no progress.

Details:

  • Setup: Dropbox Desktop app v203.4.4858, macOS Sequoia 15.0.1, MacBook Pro M1, Dropbox Plus plan.
  • Issue: After the macOS update on July 1, 2025, the app shows “Syncing” but no files upload/download. Sync status says “Up to date” but new files aren’t reflected online.
  • Steps Tried:
    • Reinstalled Dropbox app (v203.4.4858).
    • Checked Full Disk Access permissions in System Settings.
    • Paused and resumed sync via app preferences.
    • Verified internet connection (500 Mbps, stable).
    • Checked ~/Dropbox/.dropbox.cache; no corrupt files found.
  • Environment: Latest Chrome browser, 50GB storage used, no proxy/VPN.

Is this a known issue with macOS Sequoia and Dropbox? Any fixes or debug tips for the Desktop app? Thanks for any help!

Hey yesnobutton! Thanks for posting on our forum today.

Since there’s a more recent stable app version, can you please update your desktop app and let me know if that fixes any issues?

If it doesn’t, I’d like a screenshot of the current syncing status that you mentioned, just so that we can have a visual, as well as a screenshot of what you see after right-clicking on your local Dropbox folder and going to “Get info”.

Finally, what's the approximate size of files that you're trying to upload via the desktop app?

Let me know once you have more updates.
