Screenshots that are .png on my phone are not in camera uploads?

Hello, I saved a screenshot that is a png but it isn't showing up in my Dropbox? It's a document that needs to be saved on that date, but it isn't there on Dropbox, even though it is in my phone Gallery on that date. Can you help? Thank you

Hi DBuser555, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Do you have the camera upload feature enabled on your Dropbox mobile app?

Did you add the screenshots album to the list of folders to be uploaded to Dropbox?

This will help me to assist further!

Hi, yes, camera upload is enabled, and all of the photos and screenshots on the date in question all uploaded fine - those were all jpeg files - the one that isn't there is a png. Screenshots are uploaded to dropbox

Yes, but a couple of points - I need to document the date of the screenshot originally, not the upload date. Is there some hidden data attached to screenshots that retains the original creation date?

And Secondly, I do want Dropbox to automatically upload these files, just like all the others are in the selected folders. How can this be fixed for the future?

There may be some metadata on the file itself indicating when it was created, but that would depend on your device.

If the PNG files aren't being uploaded, have you tried disabling the camera upload feature, rebooting the device, and then re-enabling it and selecting the appropriate folders?

Hi, I have read something to the effect that PNG files aren't automatically uploaded?

Hi DBuser555 let me jump in here!

Your files whether .jpg or .PNG should be syncing to your camera uploads, as long as they're in your phone's camera roll.

Do you notice this behavior with a specific .PNG file? Can you recreate it when using another one?  Also, what is the OS you're using on your end?
