Shared links are being downloaded instead of viewed

For years I mass produced document and use Dropbox to share the links with multiple viewers.   Recently, when someone click on a shareable link, they are forced to download the document first.   How do I resort back to the old way where a viewer can simply see the document without downloading it?

I'm looking for a solution that can be used for all documents produced.   In other words, I make hundreds of documents (and shareable links) at one time and can't change each individual document.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Direct Response, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

What options are they getting when viewing the shared link on the Dropbox site?

Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

    Jay,

Thank you for the question.   I've actually narrowed down the problem to my short link service I use to send the dropbox links out.   For some reason the short link is forcing a download.   There are redirect options in the settings but its all greek to me.   Any recommendations?

Try speaking to whatever short link service you are using and ask them what you need to tweak/change.

The link needs to not have ?dl=1 on the end to not download automatically BUT the provider may add things on before you see it/after its clicked.
