Someone added files to my account, but I can only see them online and not the desktop app
Hi! I have my files set to local (not selective sync or online-only) and I have shared a folder with someone outside my company so they may upload files. We have done this many times with no issues. However, currently I'm looking in their folder on my desktop app through the FileFinder in Windows and I can see the dates on certain folders suggest that new files were uploaded, but when I open those folders on my desktop they are empty. But, when I view the same folders online, I can see that there are files in them. My desktop Dropbox tells me that syncing is up to date, so it's not that. Any ideas why this happened and how to fix it?

Thanks for your post, Ab_A!
Have you restarted your computer in the meantime and the files are still not showing in your local Dropbox folder?
If not, I’d like a screenshot of where you see on your desktop app that these files have been successfully added to your Dropbox account.
Let me know once you have more updates.

Do those files have any characters in their name that would prevent them from syncing down to your computer? Refer to this help article for examples of incompatible characters.
