Stopped syncing as I've used all of my storage space
I am a part of a group and I do not 'own' my dropbox account. But I am getting messages saying my account has stopped synching and I have used well over my allowed amount of storage and am being encouraged to upgrade. But it's not my account! No one else in the group is getting this message. I can't upload things in the box because of this. I can't find an actual person to get an answer from. Can someone help?
Dropbox uses up the space of all people within it who have files on an account, so, if you dont pay then your quota will be 2gb (or thereabouts) and so you need to leave some shares, delete files (careful though as if in a share it will delete them for everybody) or get more space via an upgrade.

Hi there kathybccs - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
It sounds like you're using a Dropbox account that's on the Basic plan and you're referring to a shared folder instead of a shared account which would be on a Dropbox for Business plan for teams.
Could you have a look at your plan tab and let me know what you see exactly?
Thanks!

Hi Walter,
I do have a basic plan. All I know is that when I started in this position, I was added to this Dropbox for this group? Obviously I don't know how it works! 😀

Thank you Mark. That makes sense!
