The "background app refresh" setting for the Dropbox iOS app is greyed out

I am trying to upload video from my iPhone automatically and in the background. I want this to happen on cell data or WiFi and whether or not the app is open.  The setting "Background App Refresh" is greyed out and cannot be turned on.  It would be nice if I could put them in a folder to which they would not be deleted if deleted from my phone.

Hi there, ALS_, thanks for joining our Community!

Would you mind sending us a screenshot of the setting in question?

Also, what's your iOS version and Dropbox app version?

You can see the Dropbox app version by opening the app, tapping on "Account" and then on the gear icon.

Thanks in advance for the info!
