As an early adopter and through referrals and other promotions, I had 17 GB of storage. This morning I received a notification that I exceeded my 2GB storage allotment. It looks like I may have more than that, https://www.dropbox.com/events indicates that my storage was reduced to 6.75GB, but that is still 10 GB less than I had yesterday. What gives!?
Hi mattritzman - thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Can you please clarify if the notification you mentioned was coming from the app/web or if it was an email notification?
What is your plan tab showing in regards to your quota at the moment?
Let us know more and we'll take it from there.
The notification is coming from the web.
My quota is showing 6.75.
Thanks for the screenshot mattritzman - much appreciated.
Is it possible that you had redeemed a promotion in the past, that granted you an extra 10 GB of space on your account that might have expired now?
I think it is highly unlikely. What sort of promotion would that have been? I've had this space in my account for many years.
Are you able to determine what triggered the quota decrease on your side?
Hi mattritzman, are you able to see all your earned quota on this page, including any previous promotions you added?
Could you attach a screenshot showing the message you saw on the events page about your quota being reduced?
Yes. I am able to see my quota. 6.75 GB as noted above. I would have liked to have looked at this page last week, before my quota was dropped.
Here is the Events page showing the drop of my quota on 12/6.
Thanks for the screenshot mattritzman - could you also send us a full-screen screenshot of what you see in your referrals page, both in the "From referrals" and "Other ways you've earned" sections?
Here it is.
I know where this is going, and I understand that if I can't point to the bonus space earnings, I really don't have a leg to stand on when I claim to have more space than I currently have.
What I'm saying is that I was sticking within my allocation, and something triggered a reduction. I'd like to know what that trigger was. I also find it annoying that I wasn't given a heads up in advance.
Thanks for the update and the screenshot, mattritzman.
Can we actually send you an email, so we can take a look into this internally?
