Files not updating as I'm out of space
Hi
I have a basic Dropbox and it keeps saying I have run out of space. It has been updating 506 files for weeks. I cannot access any of these files. Aside from paying for more space is there anyway I can gain access to my files?
Sarah
Great, we've now found the culprit studentsarah.
Can you follow these steps, in order to disable the feature?

The files will still be available and accessible on the device that's trying to upload them. They just wont sync to the cloud or elsewhere.

As I said, they are not available or accessible. There is one empty folder in my dropbox and 506 updating files I cannot access

Hey studentsarah, I assume you're getting this message on the Dropbox desktop app, right?
Were these files added to your Dropbox account by someone else? Perhaps to a shared folder?
If so, you should be able to access those files on dropbox.com.
In any case, if you don't have enough Dropbox space, you won't be able to sync or add files on your end.
You can take a look at this page for more info on how to add some extra space to your Dropbox account.
I hope this helps!

Thanks Hannah,
I am getting this message on my desktop icon. I do have shared folders but these are empty.

Basically I cannot access any of my files in dropbox because it remains stuck updating 507 files

Hi from me too, studentsarah! Can you send me a screenshot of what you see on this page and one more of what you see on your desktop app, that’s currently stuck updating?
If you have a lot of files stored on your Dropbox account, upgrading may be the best option in this case, but I’d like to check if there could be another alternative instead.

That is the views you ask for. I want to be able to access my files without paying to do so, so I can get within the limit

They may be empty on your device/website BUT that could be as syncing has stopped. As soon as its stops it stops populating files on to the account.
Try leaving them if that's got you over at www.dropbox.com/share
