I made my files online-only, but they're still taking up hard drive space.
My hard drive is full so I set all files to online only. How do I get the files off my local hard drive to open up storage on my hard drive? As is try to follow instructions on the help pages my Dropbox app doesn't show my avatar in the upper right corner, so I don't see Preferences. I have right clicked on the Dropbox in file explored and clicked on "manager hard dive space" to put all files to "online only" but the disk drive space doesn't free up.

Welcome to our Community, Brian Geise.
To look into this further, I'd like a screenshot of what you see after right-clicking on your Dropbox folder and going to its Properties.
I'd also like one more visual of what you see when opening your Dropbox folder, so that I can check the sync icons next to your files/folders.
Keep me posted for any updates.

Thanks for the screenshot, Brian. Can you clarify if you can see a small Dropbox icon in your system tray, close to your clock settings, at the bottom right corner of your screen?
If you do, I’d like to know the current syncing status of your Dropbox app.

I don't think so

Thanks for that! If you click on the little arrow at the right corner instead, can you see the Dropbox icon then?
If not, please go to your Programs from the Start menu and try to restart the Dropbox app from there; let me know if the icon appears after that.

It said to reinstall Dropbox to reinstall dropbox to free up hard drive space so I click it, and is says it reinstalled, but every time I go back it says the same thing.

Hey Brian Geise - thanks for the screenshots.
Could you send us another one showing the syncing icons on your files after setting them to be online-only?

Where do I find that?

Locally on your computer, inside your Dropbox folder Brian Geise - can you have a glance and check if you see any syncing icons on your files?

This?

Yes, that will do Brian Geise - thanks so much!
I don't see any syncing icons on your files - can you temporarily disable any security software and/or any 3rd party apps that might be monitoring, syncing or backing up your files and let me know if you see any syncing icons then?

I don't think any of that is running? What would the syncing icon look like?
