My Dropbox folder shows less quota than my account online.
There's 7,9 Gb available on my dropbox folder.
I've used 6,5.. but dropbox seems like it can't update that I have space available for new files.
It still says that I'm over 7,9.
When I inspect the folder in my finder, it really says 6,58Gb
This is really anoying, can somebody help me with that?
thanks

Hi Vincent14, thanks for messaging the Community.
Could you attach a screenshot showing what you're seeing on this page on your Dropbox account?
This will help me to assist further by showing where the quota is being used on your account!

Unless you have everything on Dropbox locally thats no way to test it I'm afraid - because once you are over quota syncing stops so the local drive WILL be smaller than what is online or in your account.
Remember shared folders use space, so, if somebody has dropped a large file in to that it will put your account over but not sync locally due to above.
Also, have a look at http://www.dropbox.com/backups

I'd be surprise... I dont have much shared folder, and they're all pretty inactive from other users (I'm the only one adding stuff)

It's worth checking - especially as they may not have realised or intended. I've never ever known the counter to be wrong.
But, the link from Jay will help you work it out as well.

Hey Vincent14 thanks for the screenshot!
It looks like your plan page reports 3GB of your regular files, and 4.9GB of your shared content.
As a first step, I'd suggest checking your sharing tab for any content that you no longer need, and wish to remove from your account, in order to free up some of your allocated space.
If you believe that there are no shared folders or files that take that much space, it'd be great to have a screenshot showing what you're seeing, in order to ensure that we're on the same page.
When it comes to the Dropbox folder reporting a different number, can you check your app's current syncing status? If syncing is paused, this might explain any differences you see. Once the account is under the space limit for your account and the app is 'up to date', we will proceed accordingly.

That image shows you are using lots in Shared Folders - 4.9gb. Which will be whats put you over the limit.
You need to delete files to get under it.
As I've said the file size on your device is irrelevant.
