My "space used" shows less space than my Dropbox folder, why?

I went to spaced used and it was a couple if hundred Megs or so but in my Dropbox folder it says over a Gig.  My trash is empty so I was wondering where the space is being used.  I did have a large file in Dropbox yesterday but I deleted it.  Please advise.  Thank you.

If your Dropbox folder is larger than the usage that's reported on your Plan page, the cause is usually the hidden .dropbox.cache folder located within the Dropbox folder. This folder is used to store the file fragments as they're syncing, as well as temporarily store any files that you delete from the website or other devices.

While you can clear the cache folder if absolutely needed, you should leave it alone. If you do need to clear the cache, you can delete the content of the folder, but don't delete the folder itself.
