Hey CP16, I'd be happy to help!
The error you are encountering should be temporary and should be fixed by a simple restart of the Dropbox desktop app.
If Dropbox is still running, make sure to stop Dropbox by clicking on the Dropbox icon in the menu bar. Then click on your profile picture or initials, then Click Quit.
To restart: Restart Dropbox by double-clicking on the Dropbox icon in the Application folder.Keep me posted, on the results!

this isn't working, I tried it numerous times, I have even downloaded and redownloaded-
it tells me db cant sync but all syncing is on for db. then this goes in circles.

Hey CP16, thanks for letting me know!
Since the issue persists, feel free to check whether you have a copy of the Dropbox.app file on your computer in these locations:
/Applications
~/Library/Application Support/Dropbox
If you see this file in both locations, delete the file in the second location(~/Library/Application Support/Dropbox).
If you see the file in the second location but not in the first, move the file to the first location(/Applications).
Then, please restart the app once again and if that doesn't work either let me know!
