Dropbox daemon on Ubuntu keeps asking to be installed on boot
Dropbox daemon doesn't work properly on Ubuntu since I started using it some years ago. Everytime I start my computer it asks me to install it again even when it is already installed properly from the official sources. Also it shows the loading symbol even when it is updated and I have to stop syncing and resume it to force it to stop showing this.

Hi FranciscoLagos, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link?
Keep me updated with any progress!

Hello Jay,
I tried the advanced reinstall but it's still asking me to install Dropbox each time I start my computer.

Do you have any specific set up which would remove any previously saved settings when you boot your device?

No. Just regular Ubunut 20.04 with no specific set up.

Hey FranciscoLagos, let me also jump in here!
Can you kindly attach a screenshot, showing the exact message you get when rebooting your device?
Also, what is the version of the Dropbox app that you currently have installed on your device?

Hello Megan,
Here you find an screenshot of the message. Notice that the daemon is already running in the task bar. It asks me to install Dropbox each time I start my computer even if I check the option 'Don't show this again' pressing 'ok' and waiting for the installation, pressing 'ok' and cancelling the installation or pressing 'Cancel'.
I have the verision v223.4.4909

Hey FranciscoLagos, thanks for the screenshot!
Since you've already tried an advanced reinstall, I think we might need to escalate your case to our specialized agents.
However, I'd need to send you an email in order to do so, would you be okay with that?

Yes, thank you !
