Dropbox Sprig Electron View message on Windows when shutting down my computer.

Application Affected
Windows shutdown
Device
HP Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz   1.50 GHz, 8 GB
Operating System/Browser (if using the web)
Windows 10 version 10.0.19045
Dropbox App Version (if using the app)
229.4.5197 full version

Question or Issue
Every time I shut down my computer, it sits and waits for a minute or sofor something called Dropbox Sprig Electron View, and finally shuts down. My Dropbox is the full version 229.4.5197.
First time I had the problem (two months ago) I followed this instruction:

https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001016/sprig-electron-view-holds-up-shutting-down-windows-10/746091/replies/813900

and the problem disapeared. A month ago the problem retured. Not pleasant to remove and reinstall Dropbox every time the problem shows up.

Thanks for any help.

Hey apcneves - thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Can you try the latest stable version of the Dropbox desktop app from this page directly and let me know how it goes?

If you get the same results, I'd appreciate a screenshot of what you see on your end so that we can have a visual too.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Still the same (see image below). There is a second message that I'm not sure relates to the Sprig Electron View issue. I restarted 5 times after installing the version you suggested.

Hi from me as well, apcneves! I know you’ve tried these steps already, but would you mind giving them one more go? I’d like to see if the issue will resurface after that.

Also, regarding the message that you keep receiving, does it usually appear after launching and closing the Dropbox app too quickly?

    Hi there,

    1. I've uninstalled Dropbox and restarted the computer. No message appeared.
    2. Downloaded the latested full version (https://www.dropbox.com/downloading?plat=win&type=full) following the steps. Dropbox worked fine.
    3. Restarted the computer and the messages returned.

I don't understand your last question. When I start my computer Dropbox is already available through Windows File Explorer. I never open or close any App (I miss the time when my computer had software installed, rather than App)

Hey apcneves, I just sent you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this.

Reply back to me, and we'll take it from there. Thanks!
