I installed the Dropbox app on Windows 11, but it keeps freezing.
Just installed windows 11 24h2 in my computer and finished all the updates. Proceeded to install dropbox and the installation flows fine but right after setting up the account and selecting the folders to sync the programs stalls.
Tried uninstalling, restarting the computer, clearing cache, clearing the register, installing again and the same.
Have tried to not change the folders to download, have tried having only online and also in the laptop and it all fails.
After a while, in some cases, the app restarts itself and asks me to sign in again and then it's the same issue all over again.

Welcome to the forum, jjkazz! Hope you’re doing well.
Just to clarify, it’s not your File Explorer (where the Dropbox folder is saved) the one that's freezing, but the Dropbox app itself, correct?
Do you happen to use any kind of antivirus/firewall on your computer at the moment? If you do, I'd like you to disable it temporarily, restart your computer and let me know if the Dropbox app freezes after that.
Ping me once you have more updates.

The app itself was freezing.
I don't have any firewall/antivirus yet installed, only MS Defender. Checked the settings and Dropbox had access to the internet, but will try again giving explicit access to dropbox.exe

Hey jjkazz let me jump in here too!
While you're trying that, could you also clarify the version of our app that you have installed on the device?
You should be able to hover your mouse over the little Dropbox icon on your task bar, next to your WiFi to find that out.

I'll have access to the PC in some hours, I never managed to see the icon in the task bar, it appeared as a blank space.
The version was probably the latest as it was directly from the dropbox installer website (https://www.dropbox.com/install).

If you could check once you have access to the device, that'd be great jjkazz.
Let me know!

Turned off windows defender firewall
Tried again with new installer just downloaded, version 220.4.4126.
Sign in successfully via chrome, changed dropbox folder to Documents, selected specific folders to sync downloading files locally (like previously)Seems to be successful. Do I need to have the firewall off?

Not necessarily, but you might need to adjust its settings to whitelist Dropbox and its domains jjkazz
