Inconsistency between Windows Explorer "Status" and Dropbox pop-up Window regarding sync status.

Hi,
I had to reinstall Windows and Dropbox and now I have to use the new layout where the green tick marks are no longer attached to file/folder icon but appear in the Explorer column "Status".

Now, in the pop-up window of the Dropbox app it says "Your files are up to date". In the explorer window it is pure mess: some folders have status syncing (the circular arrows icon), show the have solid green, some a green circled tick mark and some even have the cloud icon (i.e. offline only).

I have made absolutely sure that all these folders are supposed to be "always offline available" by setting this preference at the reinstall (which is another issue: pls tell me clearly before install that "online only" is the default, finding out about this cost me several hours...). Of course, I restarted Win Explorer, restarted dropbox and the restarted the computer. Nothing improved the situation.

My main use case for dropbox (for more than 15 years) is the have a reliable and neat cloud back up. If this no longer works reliably I cannot continue with dropbox.

Have a good day,

ed

Hey ed303, let's see what we can find about this together!

As a first step, I'd like to ask for your exact OS, along with the Dropbox version that you're using on the machine.

You should be able to locate both the app's version, and its syncing status by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon on your task bar, next to your WiFi.

If you have any screenshots, they're most definitely welcome, in order for me to have a visual of what you also see on your end.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
