Not getting notifications on Android when a file is uploaded.
I'm using the free version of dropbox. I have the desktop app and android apps downloaded.
I have a .txt file in a dropbox folder I created. I shared the folder and I'm following that folder.
Per this https://help.dropbox.com/organize/follow-folder
When I put a new version of that .txt (always same filename) file in the dropbox folder I want to receive a notification on my phone that a file was uploaded.
All notifications are turned on to my knowledge.
What do I need to do to get a notification on my android phone when that .txt file is uploaded on my PC thru the dropbox desktop app?

Hey @autosciz, let's jump right into this!
If I understand this correctly, it sounds like you wish to receive a notification on your mobile app when a file is added to a folder that you follow, right?
Just to make sure we're on the same page here, it sounds like you're using the same Dropbox account when using your desktop and mobile app, is that correct?
In this case this wouldn't be possible. Also, push notifications on the mobile app occur for shared folder invitations, and when links are shared with you. However, I'll forward your feedback to the appropriate areas so we can continue to improve.
I hope this helps!

If I login to the android app under a different account, will I then get a push notification?

Hey autosciz, this doesn't seem possible, since the mobile app can only receive notifications in regards to your quota, security codes for the account and files/folders being shared with you.
They don't include content that was simply added to your account. However, your comments on this have been quite helpful, and I will do everything I can to ensure that your voice is heard.

I could really use the same functionality. I was under the impression that any files uploaded would increase the little red number that pops up on the app icon, but I think those are actually just unread notifications? And there's no way to get notifications for file request uploads?
I really would like to get notifications for unseen new file request uploads.
