Problem uninstalling Dropbox (Windows 11)

Hi all,

I am trying to uninstall Dropbox from my Windows 11 laptop. I tried following this guide but Dropbox does not appear in my list of installed apps.

I then tried to just delete the Dropbox folder from my computer, but it gave me the following errors:

I cannot click "more details." I am logged in to my Microsoft account, I am the "Owner" of the Dropbox file, but it won't let me delete the folder. I also have no idea how to delete the app. I want to keep my Dropbox account and its contents, I just don't want it on my laptop anymore.

Hi Greensleeves97, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you try installing the app from the Dropbox site first, and then try uninstalling it?

Keep me updated with any progress!

Hi, yes, that worked! I didn't realize that I must have already uninstalled it.

I suppose my remaining problem then is how to remove the files from my computer.

No worries, once the app is uninstalled, you should be able to delete the Dropbox folder from your machine.
