Renamed user on Mac and now the Dropbox app will not start
I renamed my user on my Mac, including changing the name of the user home folder. Everything works fine except DropBox. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. Changed file permissions, created a new user with the old home folder name and went into DropBox under that user and changed the location to the new user folder. But dropbox still is trying to use the old folder, not the new one, and errors out at startup due to permission issues.

You need to totally delete/uninstall Dropbox, restart the machine and then reinstall and point it to the correct directory.
