The Dropbox app is deleted each time I restart my Mac
I've seen some older posts, but can't find anything recent (or solutions) to this:
Since the last iOS update (Sequoia 15.4.1), the dropbox app is deleted every time I restart my computer! I've reinstalled several times now. After each install I check the security settings on the Mac, making sure Dropbox is given full access. My dropbox documents/files are fine; but the app is gone. Has anyone figured this out yet? If no solution I might have to dump Dropbox. In searching my Mac for the Dropbox app (after each restart) it is gone; deleted. Yet there are still some related 'dropbox' files on the machine (widget, a couple other weird files with 'Dropbox' as part of their name). (Related question: Is there an actual 'uninstaller' for Dropbox?)

Hi dgonsalves2000, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
In order to determine why this is occurring, if you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link?
After that, try rebooting the device a few times to see if the behavior is replicated.
Keep me updated with any progress!

Thanks. I started down the path of uninstalling. Did not get very far. Unfortunately when I tried to drag the app to the recycle bin, I got this pop-up: "The operation can’t be completed because one or more required items can’t be found.
(Error code -43)" Any ideas for next step? - Jay2 months ago

Are you certain the Dropbox desktop application isn't currently running on your machine, before you attempt to uninstall it?
Could you attach a screenshot showing this error you're getting?

Unfortunately, I can't show you the error screenshot (past that point). In the process of deleting all dropbox program files, prior to doing an advance reinstall (per the instructions), I did a complete beginners move-- I deleted my Dropbox folder (files). And I emptied my recycling prior to noticing it 🤦♂️. (I"ve had Dropbox for 15 years. Feeling so stupid). Luckily my online files were synced just the other day... so I can download them. Two questions at this point (sorry): First, there are three Dropbox files still showing (attached). They're like ghosts... zero bytes but can't delete. Thoughts? Second, since I have to download all my dropbox files from online, does that change how I reinstall? (PS: I really appreciate your help, but understand if you need to terminate the thread, as it's gone far beyond where it started!).
