Ubuntu 24.04 installation limbo
I tried installing Dropbox from deb (dpkg -i dropbox_2024.04.17_amd64.deb) to a relatively fresh Ubuntu 24.04 system.
- The package installation succeeded, but dropbox start failed silently.
- Then I tried via CLI "dropbox start", which pointed me to "dropbox start -i", which then failed in python, as the gi package was missing
- To install gi via pip (as PyGObject), I had to first install libcairo2-dev and libgirepository-1.0-dev via apt
- then it worked
That can't be the normal procedure. Am I missing something fundamental?
