Warnings that syncing will stop unless we update Mac OS to a newer version

I've recently seen warnings that dropbox will not continue syncing unless we update Mac OS to a newer version. I get it, 10.14 is old. The issue our company has is that we have a series of computers which require 10.14.6 in order to run 32 bit applications that there are no replacements for. 10.15 and up will not run 32bit applications, so we can't update. Running 10.14 in Parallels is horrendously slow. I know we can't be the only ones affected by this, but we're running out of ideas here. We rely on dropbox syncing for a number of integrations.

Today we appear to be syncing files, but I would like to know when this ability will end and if there's really no other options for long time supporters of your services.

Thanks,

James

Hey Jaholy1 - thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to our Community!

At the moment, you can run the Dropbox desktop app on MacOS 10.13 High Sierra and later as outlined here.  That said, can you please clarify where you're seeing these warnings or share a screenshot so that we can have a visual too?

    Thank you so much, James.

Thanks for the quick reply, Walter. When opening the dropbox menu in the main menu bar, that was where this notification appeared. It said support for syncing on 10.14 would be discontinued, but you could still access files through the website. It was there for the last few days and while we were trying to figure out what to do today the notification is no longer in the menu. The menu appears to have changed as well, as if the version was updated in the background. I did see 10.13 listed on the website still, but if syncing for the older OS is going to end we really need to know. There doesn't appear to be anything else that supports legacy versions for this style of syncing data.

    Thanks,

    James

Dropbox will, at some point, stop syncing for 10.14, as to when nobody will know that until it is announced.

So, it may be that you need to think of some measures to mitigate this before it occurs as often when they do announce you only get a few months notice.

That said, from experience often syncing doesnt immediately 'stop' on the day that it says it wont work, you do sometimes get some grace period, but, it usually does stop within a week or so.

Thanks Mark. We'll keep trying to come up with a solution and hopefully the grace period allows us to continue smooth operations here in the meantime.
