What happens if I disconnect my account from my desktop?

Hi everyone. I hope you can help me. my question is this:

if I disconnect my account from Dropbox on my PC and delete all the folders on my PC... will I lose the contents?

    As long as those files are synced to your account online first, you won't lose them from Dropbox. Just make sure you've signed out of Dropbox on the PC before you delete the files.

    Hi elisabetta23, thanks for messaging the Community!

     

    As Rich stated, if you sign out of the desktop app first, and then uninstall it for good measure, you can delete the files in your Dropbox folder, and the files on the site will be unaffected.
