When adding Google Drive to my device, Dropbox disappears from the start-up menu.

Has anyone had the experience of setting drop box to startup items on a mac and then added Google drive too. Google stays put in the login items but I maybe nut but Drop box disappears rom the login items.....Could someone try this too. I am using Sequoia 15.3...and a Mac Book Pro.....

Respectfully,

Glen

Hey Glen Harvey thanks for posting here!

Just to make sure we're aligned here, it sounds like you're using our desktop app, and you're specifically referring to our startup, right?

When you say that Dropbox disappears from the login items, would you be able to let me know more as to what happens then?

Does the app's icon go missing, or doesn't it start automatically when you open the device? If it's something else, let me know!

Also, what is the version of the app you're using on your end? You should be able to locate this by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon on your menu bar, next to your WiFi.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

    Drop Box Version 29.4.446

The icon on the bottom taskbar DOES  NOT disappear...The application is missing from the login items but the google drive remains.....I have to use both....so it is a drag when he Drop box disappears from the top task bar

Thanks for the info Glen Harvey

Out of curiosity: do you notice the same behavior if you temporarily pause Google Drive? Or does Dropbox open without any issues then?

If you have any screenshots that you can send my way, feel free to do so in order for me to have a visual too.

Close then reopen G drive after it starts, or turn off its finder extensions.

    Megan:

I have attached pics named in order of events. For example '

    1. I have taken a screen shot of the login items screen showing the Google Drive only....
    2. I then add Dropbox to the login items
    3. I then restart the system
    4. I take another screen shot showing both the DropBox and Google drive both icons showing but the login items now show only Google drive again
    5. I then restart the system, the only icon showing in the top task bar is once again Google drive...

    Hope this helps, very frustrating

Hey Glen Harvey, so as a test, if you remove Google Drive, does the issue persist?

if I restart and then add only the dropbox by itself and then restart, I believe it works correctly...I will double check this later today...Do you folks have a test mac system to test my theory...I seem to be finding several annoyin feature with application environment....if my theory is correct this is like the netscape internet explorer issue years ago....

Is this a lost cause...I have documented everything..When I did installetions and testing we had to test on macs and windo operating systems, this wqs Windows 3and mac system 7....I feel a little frustrated here after describing the problem and getting no traction...I do hav a work around good for me.....

Glen, did you double check this, as you had mentioned in your previous post, and the issue is resolved after removing Google Drive?
