Win 10 - Dropbox icons disappeared

Dropbox icons suddenly disappeared from win 10 File Explorer after a standard reboot.  Uninstalling and re-installing Dropbox (I am using only the "personal version") did not help.   Nor did-rebooting again.  Dropbox otherwise seems OK, including on phone app, where synced icons DO appear.  The Dropbox icon in the PC's tray shows a version number of 189.3.8308 and says that sync status is up to date.  Can you suggest a remedy, hopefully one that does not involve higher level tinkering?  Thanks!

Hey BobW2, thanks for posting this here.

From what I see, your Dropbox app is on the beta app version (189.3.8308), which is experimental, so I’d like to see if that’s the issue.

Can you please switch off early releases from this page, and then install the latest stable app version via this link

Let me know if you see any difference after that.

Thanks, Nancy.  The engine is now 188.4.6302.  But the icons are still missing, both via a browser in Dropbox.com and via the Windows Explorer app (on the local drive and on Dropbox).

Thanks for giving that a go, BobW2!

The Dropbox website doesn’t have syncing icons in general, so we’ll need to check what’s happened on your desktop app.

Have you recently had any updates, when it comes to the OS of your computer?

If not, please follow these steps, and let me know if they help.
