Can I open files in Office App from Dropbox Online without needing the Dropbox app?

Similar to Sharepoint it be great to enable the ability to Open Office 365 files in the Desktop applications from Dropbox Online. Eliminating the need for the use of the Desktop App and relying on users to manage what files that Sync to their device.
