Selecting a Paper task in sidebar doesn't take me to the actual "to do" in large docs; page reloads.
Device - Macbook pro Apple M1 Max - 32GB
Operating System/Browser (if using the web) - MacOS 15.6.1 (24G90)
Dropbox App Version/Browser Version - Version 139.0.7258.139 (Official Build) (arm64)
Question or Issue
One of the most awesome features of Dropbox Paper, besides it's elegant, minimal display options , and smooth copy-paste with Apple Mail, is the task sidebar.I have looked for a replacement as Drop[box paper has aged, and nothing comes close.
Unfortunately, the sidebar has stopped working the way it was designed. When I click on a todo in the task sidebar, it always forces a reload of the page (it did not used to, if I clicked on a task that was within this document.)
AND, if the document is large, it does not scroll to a todo in a large document.
This renders the Task sidebar almost useless as a navigation tool. Now I have to search text to match the todo, where the Task sidebar navigation used to be seamless.
Attached is a document that exhibits the "full page reload" issue. And a screen recording of a larger file, where the todo list does not scroll.
PLEASE fix this! This is CRUCIAL to our workflow with our many many clients. We do NOT want to migrate off Dropbox Paper!
First, the document link:

Next the recording, please listen to the voiceover.

PLEASE HELP!

Can't agree more! This is a great feature and used to work.

Hey D Story, let's see what we can find about this together!
I've removed both the Paper link, and the recording link for security reasons, but don't worry I was able to have a look at the demonstration you sent.
First of all thanks for that, excellent job displaying this particular behavior. It gave me a great insight into what you're working with.
Does this happen only when you use Chrome as your browser? If for instance, you try to check your to-do list on a larger document in a different browser, or even an incognito mode does the same thing happen then? Can you give that a go?
Same thing goes to C Brandt. Which browser do you use, and have you noticed the same thing as the OP mentioned about larger Paper files? If so, what's the size of these files?
Keep me posted, with any updates!

Megan, thanks for the quick reply. I am a LOVER and PROMOTER of Paper, so getting support on it is making my morning today! :). I'll try those other things and get right back to you.

Hi Megan, two updates:
1) In Chrome latest, incognito mode, and having logged into Dropbox, I get the same behavior.-> clicking the todo item ALWAYS reloads the page, and only leaves the final view showing the todo on the small document.
-> clicking on a link to a large document does not scroll, it just loads the new document and leaves me at the top of the document. Here is the size of the document, if that helps:- 73,313 words
- 416,591 characters
- 38 emoji
2) In Safari latest, private window, and having logged into Dropbox, I get exactly the same behavior as in Chrome (both cognito and incognito)
So yes, 100% reproducible as originally described above.
What next, faithful moderator? Can we get someone to make this work as it used to? (see EXPECTED behavior above in original post.)

Hi Megan, I gave a very detailed reply to your questions. Is there any update -- will this be looked into by the engineering team?
It is 100% reproducible for me under all the conditions you asked about -- chrome/safari, normal/anonymous browsing, large/small files.
