The Dropbox Badge does not appear on MS Word files on certain computers with Windows 10 Pro.
In my company, on most computers running Windows 10 Pro with Dropbox version 212.4.5767 and various Office packages, the blue badge does not appear when opening Word files. I haven’t been able to determine if the issue is caused by Windows, Office, or Dropbox. However, it affects most computers. Please help me find a solution to resolve this issue, as my colleagues actively use this feature. Thank you.

Hey there, ITEasy, let's see what we can find about this!
I know this might sound trivial, but have you tried disabling and then enabling the feature altogether on the devices you're having issues with?
Feel free to also have a look at this relevant Help Center article, and let me know of any updates.
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Thank you for the quick response. I would like to mention that I have already tried disabling and re-enabling this option, and I have also reviewed the information provided in the help support section; everything seems to be in order. The issue appeared recently and seems to be quite widespread within the company where I work. I should mention that the badge appears on all computers for MS Excel files, while I encounter issues specifically with MS Word. I look forward to receiving instructions for troubleshooting and resolving the issue.

Thanks for the added info ITEasy!
Does this happen with all of your Word files?
Would you mind clarifying some approximate sizes of these files, and when did this start happening?
- ITEasy8 months agoHelpful | Level 5
It applies to all types of Microsoft Word files, regardless of size. We noticed the issue starting today, but it’s possible it has been present for a few days.

Hey ITEasy!
And these files aren't currently open in “Protected View”, right?
Would you be able to check the syncing status on some of the devices, and make sure they're "up to date"?

Hi - I am having the same issue. Been emailing back and forth with support but the issue has not been resolved. Only happens with Word, Excel is fine. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled multiple times. I even uninstalled Microsoft 365, thinking maybe it was a Word issue. I make sure the preference for the badge is set to "allows show". I am not using compatibility mode either. The issue started last week and it is with ALL word documents.
