I was suddenly charged for a yearly plan, instead of the monthly subscription.
Woke up to a $186 dollar debit today. I always pay monthly and Drop box helped themselves to the whole year! I am mortified. anyone else have this and had success in reverting it??

Dropbox can't do that on their own without input from you or someone else.
First, check your Plan page to see if your account actually says that it's being billed annually instead of monthly. Also, check your Billing page for a list of recent transactions. What do you see?
If everything checks out there, use the credit card charge lookup tool to verify that the yearly charge was for your account.

If it's not a legitimate charge, they'll take care of it for you, but check the resources above first, so we can figure out what the issue is.
After that, visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for Billing issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.

And did you check the pages I linked above? What do they say, monthly or yearly? Did you check the account associated with the charge using the lookup tool?
Dropbox cannot just change your subscription from monthly to yearly on their own. I suspect the charge is for a different account.
